PH: W.H. Ferguson Park
Located in Park Hill on the corner of 23rd and Dexter, this park is just one block from the Park Hill Library. Although it isn't very big it is fenced in with a grassy field, a climber surrounded by sand and swings (two regular, one baby). The climber is geared more towards preschool and up with its ladders and gaps, but the sanded ground is perfect for toddlers, just remember to bring some sand toys as I don't think that there were any community ones available. There is also a gazebo with bench seating to shade the sun.

Puddles: More Fun than Playgrounds!
What's more fun than a playground in February? Playing in puddles, especially when you can throw rocks and snow in! Although me and my small date for the day were headed outside to do some climbing, we ended up splashing in puddles, throwing rocks in, and experimenting with putting snow into the puddles. Remember one of those rules for playtime? Never have a plan :)

The Butterfly Pavilion
Although this isn't a walking destination from downtown Denver, it's worth a visit. I was very lucky to go on a quiet January day in the afternoon, and wouldn't want to be there during peak times as it really isn't that big of a space and would be difficult to really enjoy.
Located in Westminster Google Map Here
Enjoy the small playspace in the back. Flowers, a caterpillar, and a leaf slide are soft climbers similar to that you'd find at the Cherry Creek Mall. |

Sledding: Robinson Park
A great sledding hill for snowy weather! Wide-open, tall hills. You'll be guaranteed to see many other people sledding here at all times of the day.
PH: Robinson Park
Playground Hopping: Robinson Park
Location: 3rd and Glencoe/Fairfax, Hilltop Denver
A nice little park close to Crestmoor. Large field, climber, swings, and in the summer bathrooms and water fountains.

Sledding: Bonnie Brae Park
Not the biggest sledding hills ever, but if you're in the neighborhood on a snowy day it's a great place to meet up with other kiddos and have some simple, yet fun slides.
Pray for snow! |
